The Netherlands may have cruised through the group stage, but Ronald Koeman insists the real World Cup begins now.

After finishing top of Group F with seven points and an impressive 10 goals scored, the Oranje are already turning their full attention to a blockbuster Round of 32 showdown against Morocco in Monterrey.

For Koeman, there is no room for complacency.

Morocco Deserve Full Respect

While many see the Netherlands as one of the tournament favorites, Koeman is refusing to underestimate their next opponents.

"I'm not even sure we're the favorites," the Dutch manager admitted.

"Morocco are a very strong team with a lot of quality. They score goals easily and they're capable of hurting any opponent."

Instead of discussing potential quarter-final opponents or dreaming about a deep run, Koeman wants his squad completely focused on the immediate challenge.

"We're not in a position to think beyond this match," he said.

"Our only focus is Morocco."

The Real Test Begins

The Dutch impressed throughout the group stage, scoring 10 goals in three matches and finishing unbeaten.

But according to Koeman, everything changes once the knockout rounds begin.

"This is our real test," he explained.

"From now on, every match is like a final."

One mistake.

One bad performance.

And the tournament is over.

That reality has already changed the mentality inside the Dutch camp.

Defensive Concerns Still Remain

Despite their attacking brilliance, Koeman admits there is one area that still needs improvement.

The Netherlands have now conceded in seven consecutive matches, something the coach believes must be addressed before facing Morocco.

"We're paying close attention to it," he said.

"There are moments when players are not in the correct positions, or we fail to block dangerous situations."

Those details, Koeman believes, can decide knockout matches.

Fortunately for the Dutch, they possess one of the tournament's most dangerous attacks.

"Conceding goals is part of football," he said.

"But we've also scored 10 goals in three games."

Room to Improve

Koeman believes his team can still become much stronger.

He wants the Netherlands to play with greater compactness, quicker transitions and better movement both in and out of possession.

"We need to move together as a team," he explained.

"When we attack, when we defend, when we transition—we have to do it collectively."

According to the Dutch coach, learning never stops.

"There is always something to improve in football."

That mentality has helped keep his players grounded despite an excellent group-stage campaign.

Orange Army Gives the Team Extra Energy

Koeman also reserved special praise for the thousands of Dutch supporters who transformed Kansas City Stadium into a sea of orange throughout the group stage.

"The atmosphere has been incredible," he said.

"When you walk into the stadium and see all those orange shirts and hear the fans singing, it's an amazing feeling."

The passionate backing has provided an extra boost as the Netherlands continue their pursuit of World Cup glory.

Win or Go Home

The Oranje will remain at their training base in Kansas City before travelling to Monterrey, where high temperatures and an in-form Moroccan side await.

But the message inside the Dutch camp is crystal clear.

"There are no second chances now," Koeman said.

"If you lose, you go home."

"If you win, your dream continues."

For a Netherlands team full of confidence but determined to stay humble, the mission couldn't be simpler.
