Neymar Set for Comeback in Pivotal World Cup Clash Against Scotland
After recovering from a calf injury that sidelined him for Brazil's opening two matches in the World Cup, Neymar is ready to make a significant return at a crucial juncture for the team.
"Neymar is available. He trained well during the week and has prepared thoroughly for the game. We are thrilled to have him back. His quality can greatly benefit the team," stated Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti during a press conference.

The Brazilian football icon is anticipated to rejoin the Selecao after a lengthy hiatus. Although a definitive decision regarding his playing time remains pending, it is expected that he will feature for around 15 minutes to regain match fitness ahead of the knockout stage.
"He can play. I can manage 90 minutes walking; he’s fit to play. He trained exceptionally well, and I’m very pleased with his progress," Ancelotti expressed with a smile.
Neymar's last appearance for the national team was on October 17, 2023, during a 2-0 loss to Uruguay in the Qualifiers.
On that occasion, he suffered a severe anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus tear in his left knee. After nearly three years of rehabilitation, the forward has been recalled by coach Carlo Ancelotti for the 2026 World Cup.

"Neymar's attitude in recent days has been exemplary. He is well-acquainted with his teammates and has been working diligently and seriously to recover as quickly as possible.
"I’m very happy with him. Even if he doesn’t play, his experience and game knowledge will be invaluable in supporting the younger players. He is doing exceptionally well," the Italian coach emphasized.
Neymar's return bolsters a squad eager for victory to secure the top position in Group C.
